Our Story

Karen and Mike began working together in home care in 2018. Karen is a private duty care manager and health and wellness coach practicing in Towson, Maryland. She is also an advanced professional of the Aging Life Care® Association. Mike dedicated more than two decades to secondary education as a teacher and administrator. Since 2015, he has focused on serving older adults—first as co-owner of a home care agency and then as a Medicaid case manager. In addition, Mike and his wife have cared for their daughter born with special needs for more than 30 years.

Through their personal and professional experience in home care and care management, Karen and Mike have found that loneliness is ubiquitous among older adults regardless of socioeconomic status. They find the hardest part of serving as a Callgiver is ending the phone call.
